Full Specifications

Our roll up doors are made-to-order, so it’s especially important that you double-check all measurements before ordering (as all sales are final).

PRE-ORDER REQUIREMENTS:

Mounting Surface & Door Clearance (3 Steps)

Measure the following areas to design your light duty roll up door.

Step 1: Measure Framed Opening

Measure the framed opening that the door will cover.
Measure the inside jamb-to-jamb width of the opening (A), and measure the sill to header height of the opening (B). Record and provide the size in 1" increments with the width first and the height second.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your framed opening is 7'6" wide and 10'0" high, you would order a 7'6" x 10'0" (width first, height second) door. Within your quotation request, you will be asked to provide us with the exact door measurements you desire (to the nearest inch). Remember they need to be identical to the doors framed opening measurements.

Step 2: Mounting Surface Areas

The door will mount inside and above the rough opening, and will overlap the back sides of the opening. It will not fit within the rough opening. The surfaces that the door brackets and side guides mount to must be flush with each other.

Minimum Mounting Surface Areas for Light Duty Model Roll Up Doors.

  • Brackets: C = 4" in Width
  • Brackets: D = 7 1/2" in Height
  • Guides: E = 2" in Width (4" masonry)

Step 3: Minimum Door Coil (Headroom & Backroom Requirements)

The door coils into a roll above opening when in the raised, open position. Measure to ensure there is adequate clearance for the coil per the following information.

Minimum Clearance Requirements for Light Duty Model Roll Up Doors.

  • Back Room (F) = 18"
  • Head Room (G) = 15" for doors less than or equal to 7'0".  16" for doors 7'1" to 10'4".  18" for doors 10'5" to 12'.
  • Side Room (H) - w/o Chain Hoist = 4" for doors up to 11' wide.  5" for doors over 11' wide.
    Side Room (H) - w/ 4: 1 Chain Hoist = 9"
  • Note: Insulated doors require additional 1" of back room and head room.

** Do not hesitate to ask for clarification regarding any measurement requirements prior to ordering **
